The next meeting will take place on June 24, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at the Lodz University of Technology.

The Section is serving as the patron of the 18th Scientific and Technical Conference on Computer Technologies in Engineering (TKI 2026). The conference will take place October 20–23, 2026.

The section has agreed to serve as a patron for this year’s and future editions of the Lightweight Structures in Civil Engineering (LSCE) conference. The next edition will take place on December 3–4, 2026, in Gliwice.

Who are we?

The Structural and Materials Mechanics Section of the Civil and Water Engineering Committee of the Polish Academy of Sciences focuses on the modeling of materials and structures, with particular emphasis on theoretical foundations and computational models.

The Section’s members are representatives of research institutions in Poland who conduct theoretical research, laboratory studies, and computer simulations in structural and materials mechanics, as well as the implementation of research results into standards.

The Section ensures the quality of education in the field of structural mechanics, with a detailed focus on the theoretical and experimental foundations of materials and structural mechanics, as well as computational methods.
